Dictionary
Whisper has never heard your coworker’s name or your product’s code name. The dictionary fixes that. Open it from Settings › Dictionary.
Two kinds of entries
Section titled “Two kinds of entries”- Terms. Just type the word the way it should be spelled, like
Kubernetes,Anaïsormrgnhnt. Leave When I say empty. Herga gives these to Whisper as hints, so it recognizes them in the first place. - Replacements. Fill in When I say and Write. When you say “my email”, Herga can write your email address. Use this for spoken shortcuts and for words Whisper keeps getting wrong in the same way.
Whisper can only take so many hints at once. Terms that don’t fit are still fixed after cleanup.
You can have up to 1,000 entries of up to 200 characters each.
Where an entry applies
Section titled “Where an entry applies”Each entry can apply Everywhere, to one or more writing styles, or to specific apps. When two entries conflict, the more specific one wins, so an entry for Slack beats an entry for Everywhere.
Add a word from a capture
Section titled “Add a word from a capture”Spotted a misspelled name in a past dictation? Open it in Captures, select the word, and click Add to dictionary above the selection.
